J.W. (a.k.a. Jughead Willie) turns 27!
Our friend J.W. Morris turned 27 this past week so we took him out to eat at Santa Fe Cattle Co. in Auburn. If you haven't eaten at Santa Fe before, you must try! I have been there a few times and the food and service have always been great. J.W. was treated with a "dirt" pie, pudding type dessert. It was delicious!

Canada Day 3
Finally! I got up on some skis without falling too much! Thank goodness Joey encouraged me to agree to have lessons. We had so much fun. We did try another mountain and our ski instructor Sophie was awesome! (She also mentioned that the mountain we were on before is a little harder for beginners so I didn't feel so bad about the burrito incident. lol) Enjoy the pictures!

Banff Canada Day 2
If you read the earlier post, Banff Canada Day 1, you already know that I got off to a shaky start at skiing. So we decided that we would take it easy on our second day. We looked around some shops and we took the gondola to the top of the mountain. Enjoy the pics!

Seen in a storefront in downtown Banff (We thought it was pretty cute!)

Interesting T-Shirt Display in a storefront in downtown Banff

You can't see very well because of the glare, but in the window is a wolf's head. (Not a real wolf's head!)

Joey & I

In the gondola on the way up...He only looks calm and collected!

If you haven't seen this on my facebook page, this is my "What are you getting me into again, Joey?!?!" look.

Joey looks like he is in a painting!

Joey and I again

Gorgeous!

This is me taking advantage of the beautiful backdrop!

And, again!

Joey

Us again

hahaha! This is me "ralphing" (not really) along the side of the mountain. If you could have seen how high up we were, you probably would want to "ralph" too!

A gondola on its way down.

Banff Canada Day 1
Our first full day in Canada, we decided to go to Lake Louise to snow ski. I've posted some pictures of the day. Let's just put it this way...Lake Louise did not like me and I did not like Lake Louise. haha. It all began when I was on my way to the bunny slope and crashed through a metal gate. Yes, what a way to start a lovely day. lol. Then, after a couple of trips down the bunny slopes, I decided to go down the easiest green. Well, the easiest green, wasn't so easy. To make a long story short, after a panic attack, some crying, and a few trips on my butt down the slopes, the ski patrol carted me off. When I say carted, I mean carted, I was strapped onto a sled (in the back) where I was wrapped up like a burrito in a blue tarp while the guy had to ski me down the rest of the mountain. Unfortunately, Joey was a little timid about taking my picture because he wasn't sure how I would react...I wish he would've...at that point, I was just happy to be on my way down! And, if it makes you feel any better about my skiing abilities...I saw plenty of burritos coming down the hill. haha. More Bannf Canada stories to come....TO BE CONTINUED!

As Promised!!

Here are some goofy pictures of me from when I had my lasik done. The first picture is of me getting ready...I had a valium to calm my nerves and Joey was laughing saying I looked like the lunch lady, so I simply replied: "Would you like some pizza and corn?" You just had to be there.
Then the next day, we had some friends over, Tracey and Joe, and Tracey's daughter, Lexi. Joey cooked the best kabobs and I was impressed with my chocolate fondue. The next picture shows me stirring the fondue with my goggles on. Always remember safety first! haha. And, if you look closely, you'll also see that I have my "Got your tickets...to the gun show?" shirt on. lol. Never a dull moment around the Scarborough house.
With all that being said, I can't believe how well I can see! Lasik is one of the best things I've done! My left eye still has a little healing per the doctor, but my overall vision is 20/20 and should be even better in the next couple of months!
